Research Interests: Atmospheric Hazards and Applied Climatology
Hurricanes: How do physical storm factors influence decision making, and how do people receive and perceive information? I use land-falling hurricanes as valuable field experiences to collect data on societal perception of the event and compare that perception to the meteorological forecast.
Tornadoes: I am analyzing many layers of tornado hazard perception and awareness with an emphasis on improving meteorological risk communication prior to tornado outbreaks.
Climatology: I am interested in all aspects of Climatology, but most of my research here is focused upon detecting climate change trends in the frequency and characteristics of precipitation events and related storm tracks.
